I’m still in Day #1 with my iPhone 5s. I still like it. A lot.
That’s the good news. But I ran into a problem that needed fixing. You see, I was in my office and the sun went down. I hadn’t turned the lights on yet, and since I was basically working on my two computers (with twin 22″ diagonal displays) I really didn’t need the lights on. I know it’s bad for my eyes, I was just too lazy to get up and turn the lights on, and for the past hour-and-a-half I’ve been almost done. As soon as I’m done, I’ll be leaving the room. My pitiful excuse was that I was saving electricity.
Then my iPhone buzzed for some incoming message. I didn’t look at it right away. When I finally did I couldn’t see a darned thing. Well, that’s not entirely true, I could tell that it was on, but the default brightness setting was so low that I could barely make out what was on the screen.
So I knew I had to increase the brightness. I just couldn’t remember how to do that. If you’re lazy like me, you want to be spoon fed some things. Here’s what you do:
- Select Settings from the first home screen
- In the second section, touch on Wallpapers & Brightness
- Slide the ball on the string under the BRIGHTNESS setting to the right a bit
- Don’t overdue it though, the higher you set the brightness, the more battery you’ll consume
Pretty simple and fairly painless. Now that I can see my phone, I better reply to that text. It was from my wife…but I forgot to reply because I was excited about (1) changing the brightness and (2) writing this quick tech tip post.
I’m gonna be in trouble!
