Collocate
We are reorganizing two parts of Hectic Manor, with the goal of being finished before school starts up in mid-August. We have a computer/technology room that that call the Nexus. This room fell into disuse because of poor management of the space and stuff in the room, but we’ve made huge inroads over the past couple of weeks. I’ve also begun a complete rebooting of my office. I’m working on a design that will allow Hectic Grandson to share the space with me while simultaneously testing out the idea of a standing desk. My dream desk would be a walking desk, but I’m not sure that’s within our budget for the foreseeable future. At present the goal is to try a standing desk.
As part of the process, we’ve been working to make sure that everything is arranged in a proper order. I completely emptied the bookshelves in my office and entirely reorganized the books. I’ve sorts out all the cables and computer bits and baubles and stowed the into storage boxes, each with an appropriate printed label. Then the boxes have been organized in a manner that makes sense to me.
All of this has led to a successful collocation, where the items are arranged in their proper order. So the next time you set out to reorganize your Tupperware, sort out the junk drawer, or clean up the garage, just tell your family that you’re setting out to collocate everything, and then let them figure out what that means!
